I have shared before that the Georgia Department of Education has prepared a variety of free literacy learning cycles for elementary school. While these are tied to the Georgia Standards, many of these will be useful in any location. Each one contains science activities, followed by a related article with a specific reading skill, and then follow-up activities that include a writing prompt and specific writing skill.
They are even available in Word format so that you can edit them to your needs! To get the Word files, you’ll have to search for individual lessons on the Inspire website: https://inspire.gadoe.org/. PDF versions of each lesson are listed below. And there are more to come! A new batch are currently in editing. I will let you know when they are available.
